Sheldon has 3 cemeteries -- The Catholic
Cemetery, the Lutheran Cemetery, and East Lawn Cemetery. The City of
Sheldon takes care of the East Lawn Cemetery's records and ground keeping.
The City Office now has a database compiled of those individuals buried at
East Lawn Cemetery.

Only one burial per location is permitted
unless cremation, there can be more -- but it must be approved by sexton.
All live flowers and plants, artificial flowers and plants, and other
grave adornments shall be removed from all gravesites between Oct. 30 and April
1 of each year. The sexton will dispose of items left on graves after this
time period. (Note: Adornments have been allowed for special occasions and
holidays as designated by sexton.) |
